It’s PROPER Time!
We’ve been providing grassroots celebrations of global, community and personal restoration since 1990: PROPER’s popular “good” FREE FOOD | Music & Performing Arts ENTERTAINMENT | “PROPER” Resources and Engaging Kid’s and Family Activities with prizes: COMMUNITY. As usual, expect a fun time by all from 12-4pm Saturday, August 31 at Kenton Park.

This is our 22nd annual PROPER Festival with live music and performing arts entertainment (poets, dancers, African drummers, Native drummers, jazz, soul and Gospel music), Live Paint Show, PROPER (People Reaching Other People Expecting Restoration) One-on-Ones (financial, entrepreneurial, health/wellness, relational, ecological, and more resources) with Health screenings including Hepatitis, Note: Diabetes requires 3 hour pre-fast, Children’s area, Family relays, games and prizes, Free Food! It’s all in the name of “uniting community across all lines.”

FREE Flu Shots and Medical Help this Thanksgiving!

PROPER is excited to welcome Portland Street Medicine to our Thanksgiving Dinner!  Portland street medicine will be Giving FREE flu shots, writing prescriptions and seeing anyone who needs help.  portlandstreetmedicine.org

Portland Street Medicine is a coalition of volunteer medical professionals who provide care to our neighbors who are living outside.  “We are happy to join Proper on Thanksgiving to provide basic medical care, distribute hygiene products, and assist with referrals and information about community resources. “

Proper Thanksgiving 2018 is Right Around the Corner!

Proper Thanksgiving Feast-ival 2018 is Just around the corner!

Kenton’s favorite Thanksgiving event is back! Join us for the 2018 Proper Thanksgiving Feast-ival this Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2018, 12:00-4:00 pm. This FREE Thanksgiving community dinner is open to everyone.  This event takes the coordinated effort the businesses of the Kenton Community, without which, this would be impossible.

We’re pleased to partner with Po’Shines Cafe de la Soul to offer a fresh, high-quality menu featuring traditional Thanksgiving favorites and innovative new dishes. Join us this Thanksgiving, and we think you’ll want to make Proper part of your Thanksgiving tradition, too. All are welcome.

The Proper Thanksgiving Feast-ival features music, entertainment, kids’ activities, an inclusive community experience, and great food. We offer vegetarian options, too. Hosted in a wheelchair-accessible space.

The Thanksgiving feast is held at Celebration Tabernacle, 8131 N Denver Ave. (at Kilpatrick St.), Portland, OR, 97217. Join us anytime between noon and 4:00 pm.
